The Intersection of
My Life and Real Estate
The opportunity to purchase a house at 18 years old set in motion my life-long passion for homeownership and the pursuit of successful real estate investments.
I truly understand the gratifying feeling of being a homeowner. Purchasing a home is the largest investment most people will make in their entire life. My acuity and acumen, as an investor, buyer, and seller of my own personal real estate, have given me invaluable resources and experience to share with you to service your real estate goals.
My 20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry has allowed me to develop my expertise in the art of personalized service. In doing so, I’ve learned that attention to detail and personalization is what makes the difference. Your safety and security are the top priority as we maneuver through a real estate sale or purchase.
Why Oregon?
It was 2015, and I found myself looking for a change. A native of Atlanta, and a long time member of the hospitality industry, I was curious what the scenery looked like in other markets. I was ready to get out of my comfort zone. Let’s rewind a touch…In 2008, I drove through Portland on my way to Pinot Camp in the Willamette Valley. Four days of wine-fueled intensive study of viticulture & viniculture made a huge impact on my impression of Oregon. Years later, in 2015, as I ramped up my relocation search, the Washington Post named Portland as the #1 food city in America. That was far too coincidental. A quick R & D trip in late 2015 to assess the viability of our ambition confirmed the Rose City was going to be our new home. My partner Molly and I landed with our dog Rosie here in Spring 2016. A few years later, and a move from the west side to the inner southeast, it was time to make a professional adjustment from the restaurant industry to residential real estate brokerage.
What I Love About Portland
Oregon Coast : Our secret beach
The first thing I love about Portland is the proximity to nature and the abundance of year-round activity. There is so much to experience in this great city of ours. As an active runner, I immediately gravitated to Forest Park. I feel lucky to have quick access to beautiful world-class trails that wind through the pine-filled forest with peek-a-boo views of the city. The culinary and beverage industries have an unmistakable footprint as well. At one point, Portland had the most breweries of any city on the planet, plus you can taste some of the best Pinot Noir in the world just 45 minutes outside of the city.
Secondly, there is a respect for community, culture, and reverence for non-disruptive design. Most of the neighborhoods have a unique hallmark adding to the community's character.
Lastly, Portland has a pulse and an undercurrent of excitement that speaks to me. I take pride in aligning myself with a city that is modern, progressive, and values equality. This is an amazing city!

Why I love my neighborhood
Proximity reigning supreme. The central location enables the ability to walk, bike, or take public transit almost anywhere in Portland metro. There are numerous distinctive corridors nestled into the geographic landscape, some small and intimate, a la Clinton St. or SE 28th Ave. — others a touch more bustling — think Division St. & Hawthorne Ave. The symbiotic relationship of residents and businesses has created a rich and varied community that truly is greater than the sum of its’ parts. For many residents, living, working, and playing can be achieved within your SE neighborhood of choice.

My wife and I were first time home buyers when we met Clay. He was very patient and extremely helpful the entire home buying experience. He was always quick to provide real time updates, respond to emails or text messages from us, and he even made time to chat over the phone to better explain some more detailed items. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better Real Estate Broker. Despite all the possible (out of our hands) challenges and curve balls one could run into when buying a home, we always felt Clay had our best interest at heart and genuinely wanted us to find and be happy in our perfect home, which is exactly the case!
We highly recommend anyone looking to buy a home in the Portland Metro area to go with Clay!

Selling your primary residence and preparing to move can be very stressful. Selecting a real estate agent to facilitate this effectively is not always easy. I was fortunate to work under Clay Williams during my career and knew first hand of his exceptional work ethic, professionalism, and above all his most important attribute, honesty. He was my obvious choice. What I received initially was a well executed business plan to achieve my goals backed up by thorough research. He then listened to my input and we came to a mutual agreement on how to proceed. From this point i received daily communication and thoughtful answers to my many questions even if it required more research and consulting with his colleagues. The entire time he made me feel as if I was his number one priority. Bottomline he got the job done in a timely manner and I was immensely pleased with the results!!! I would recommend him to anyone buying or selling property knowing absolutely they would receive the same exceptional treatment.

Clayton was the perfect agent in helping my partner and I navigate the home buying process. From day 1 - Clay was always available for viewings, lightning fast with communications, understood what features we wanted and sought out, and intelligently steered us away from homes that wouldn’t benefit our needs.

Clay was an absolute delight to work with. As a former hospitality professional, Clay knows how to turn his service into an experience. While not from the Eugene area (which is where we purchased our home), Clay went to enormous lengths to ensure we got to know the city we were bound for. This included tours and networking with locals, along with plenty of authentic suggestions, all this while giving my girlfriend and I the space that we needed to make our decision. I'll finish by saying that he is absolutely knowledgeable, honest, and concise as he owns properties himself. All of these I consider to be very important qualities for an agent when purchasing a home. Please consider getting in touch with him if you're looking to buy a home in the OR area. Thanks for everything Clay!

His calm demeanor helped to calm us down..
